Name: Harry Budge
Job Title: Recruiter II
How does it feel to be recognised by your colleagues, and what was your secret to success this month?
It’s a nice feeling after your hard work gets noticed. This month, I worked smart and hard, recruiting for solid requisitions that I knew I could place. Of course, this is only possible by partnering with motivated, quality candidates, so I can’t take all the credit!
Talk to us about your recruitment journey so far.
I started in September 2022, and as this was my first corporate / office role, I was excited yet skeptical of where it could take me. I’m glad to say I’ve nearly hit the two-year mark at Planet, and I’ve enjoyed every minute. I’m glad this is where I’ve started my recruitment career, and I’m looking forward to many more Planet milestones!
You joined Planet Pharma with no previous experience in recruitment. What would your advice be to anyone who is kickstarting their career in the industry?
When you start, fully commit and give it your all! You won’t know everything, and mistakes will be made, but if you make the effort and are genuinely trying to learn and improve, you will go far.
What’s one thing you’d like potential candidates and clients to know about Planet Pharma?
There are many layers to Planet Pharma that people don’t always get to see, e.g., our compliance/accounting teams, who are just as important as the recruiters. It’s a team effort; in this instance, too many chefs won’t spoil the broth. Everyone has time for each other, and it creates a good environment for us to work in and a good supportive service for our clients and candidates.
What would you say is unique about our culture here?
Collaboration. No matter the issue or how limited people are for time, we make the time for each other, and it makes any issue never feel impossible to tackle.
Tell us more about you. Do you have any hobbies or hidden talents?
I’m the current champion of darts here at Planet and the hobby goes further than just during work hours. Also, I’m a West Ham season ticket holder for the 7th year now, and I’m the resident DJ at Planet Pharma.
If you threw a dinner party and could invite 5 famous faces – who would they be?
Paulo Di Canio, Frankie Boyle, Mark Noble, Chael Sonnen, and Michael Caine.
What would it be if you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life?
Roast Dinner, got to be!
If you weren’t working in Recruitment, what would you be doing?
I’d still be in Sales of some sort.
Finally, what do you think makes an MVP at Planet Pharma?
Collaboration, hard work, positivity, and a sense of humour!
